The direct result of the creative convergence of pop experimentalist (with all the inherent contradictions the joining of the two concepts prompts) Jenny Hval and multi-instrumentalist and sound explorer Håvard Volden, Lost Girls is in itself the description of the sound path outlined in their music. Each track seems to be an probing endeavour of the realms of pop, eletronica, and ambient, where the voice of Hval guides us through layers of melodic tracks that may or may not lead to pop climax. After an acclaimed release back in 2021, the duo is now seemingly working on new music and deepneding their research on the possibilities of pop without compromising their unsettling ethos. Although the results do sound a ever-more refined version of their output.
