Long-time NTS colaborator, first-time playing Mucho Flow, Sofie Birch stands out as a sound artist whose expertise is creating sonic pieces that manipulate space and imbue it with calm. As a multidisciplinary artist that has worked on both live performances and other, more perennial contexts such as art installations and animations, Sofie brings notions of stillness, suspension and sustain to her work by creating a distinct fashion of ambient music, where repetitiveness is clinically avoided with harmonic progressions that resolve all tension. Her live performances are mostly improvised, so do expect a good oportunity to relate to music in uncanny ways.
