Born in Tokyo, raised in Beijing, based in London, object blue’s trans-continental and multicultural life translates all too well into her music. Author of a non–place approach to producing, her music use all canons of dancefloor-oriented electronica just to displace frequencies to awkward yet well-defined new positions in the sound system, thus creating her own space between the club and the imagination to enjoy her creations. Don’t be mistaken, object blue does create beats, manipulates and modulates them just like her peers in techno and deconstructed club music; she just takes it up a notch in what she is willing to manipulate.
